Founder

I’m Russ Maughan, Rocky Mountain’s founder. I’ve been in the steel industry since college and worked as general manager at a steel warehouse before founding the company in 1997.

I started the company because a trusted client from a former job asked me to start my own business and promised to be my first customer. We started out with a truck, a trailer, and a couple of cell phones, today we have two locations and we serve five locations across the intermountain region – Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, and Wyoming – to serve our valued customers.

It’s my personal belief that your warranty is our reputation, and we stand by that promise.

Serving the Intermountain Region with Pride

Headquartered in the heart of the mountain west, Rocky Mountain Steel proudly serves Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Nevada and surrounding areas. Our regional expertise means we understand the rugged demands of mining, construction, agriculture, and manufacturing industries across the Intermountain Region—and we build to withstand them.
