Hardox® 450

A Highly Versatile, Abrasion-Resistant Steel

Hardox® 450 is an abrasion-resistant wear steel plate with a nominal hardness of 450 HBW. The 450 combines good bendability and weldability with an option for guaranteed impact toughness (Hardox® 450 Tuf).
These products can be used in many components and structures that are subject to wear.

Hardox® 450, with an extra 50 Brinell hardness over our 400 grade, provides better dent and abrasion resistance as well as a longer wear life that lets you achieve even greater savings.SSAB Hardox® 450 AR wear steel plates and sheets are often used in dump truck beds, mining separation screens, mining chutes, rock crushing machines, excavators, and conveyors.

Hardox® 500

Abrasion-Resistant Steels Are Targeted At Severe Wear Applications

Hardox® 500 AR wear steel plate is a bendable, weldable, and highly abrasion-resistant steel with a nominal hardness of 500 HBW. It’s suitable for applications that demand higher wear resistance.

Hardox® 500 increases payload and increases service life while maintaining good processability and toughness. And the high hardness makes it more resistant to impacts and dents. Hardox® 500 AR wear steel plates can be used in moving chains and to line conveyor belts.

Hardox® 500Tuf

The World’s Hardest Wear Plate With Structural Properties

The new generation Hardox® AR 500 Tuf wear steel plate is the latest upgrade in the Hardox® range. It delivers high strength, extreme hardness, and guaranteed toughness in one and the same wear plate.

Hardox® 500 Tuf combines the best properties of Hardox® 450 and Hardox® 500. The result is a wear plate with no real competition in the market. Hardox® 500 Tuf is the first 500 Brinell (HB) AR wear plate with properties on par with structural steel. The material offers a 70-100% longer service life compared to conventional 400 HB AR steel and features improved dent protection. Hardox® 600

The extra hard and tough steel for extreme wear

Hardox® 600 has a nominal hardness of 600 HBW and has incredibly high-impact toughness. This AR steel plate is especially suited for extreme wear conditions. Despite its toughness, this plate can still be plasma cut, bent and welded, making it an excellent choice for high-wear, high-impact, and other performance applications.

Hardox® 600 offers the best performance when your wear part is attached to a rigid support that limits flexing. Additional stresses from structural loads should also be kept at a low level. Hardox® 600 is a great choice for use in linings in conveyor systems, wear strips, feeders, chutes, concrete mixers, rotating hammers, and shredder knives.

Hardox® HiTuf

The extra-high tough steel for structural wear parts

Hardox® HiTuf is an abrasion-resistant AR wear steel plate with guaranteed impact toughness. With a nominal hardness of 350 HBW, it’s a good choice for structural wear parts. Hardox® HITuf AR steel wear plate has balanced crack and wear resistance properties.

The use of SSAB Hardox® HiTuf was designed specifically for the recycling industry with low preheat requirements when welding. HiTuf is a great choice for structural wear in the recycling industry like thick cutting edges, demolition tools, and rippers.

Hardox® HiTemp

For Wear Resistance At Elevated Temperatures

Hardox® High-Temperature AR wear steel plate is a high-heat grade of AR wear steel plate that provides a cost-efficient solution for wear resistance at high temperatures in the 300–500°C range (570–930°F).

When traditional quenched and tempered AR wear-resistant steels lose hardness at higher temperatures, Hardox® HiTemp high-temperature steel still delivers extreme wear resistance. Hardox® HiTemp meets an important wear challenge: Standing up to abrasive conditions in high-heat environments.
